Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, I grew up ice speedskating with my sister, under the training of my Mother. After competing internationally for the US, I left speedskating to teach and focus on my explorations of visual art.
Now based in Chicago, I move between the mediums of drawing, muraling, installation and performance. I’m interested in making human connections, public art revisiting my athletic background. Here, my explorations of time, repetition and space often originate from physical movement and the limitations of the body. I’m obsessed with lines and tape, two things ubiquitous in speedskating training and competing.
