Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, I grew up ice speedskating with my sister, under the training of my mother–America’s first four-time Winter Olympian. After competing for several years on the international World-Cup circuit and at the World Championships for the US, I returned to school and a more liberating art form. Now based in Chicago, my past experience in athletics informs the politics, movement and color in my work as well as explorations of time, repetition and space. I’m obsessed with lines, tape and motion. To me, art is food, an excuse for people to gather round together.
